QuestionTom I had to drop some titles (all DC, don't panic) and I was thinking to myself "why don't the comic creators in the industry attempt to do for fans what the big names in Next Gen consoles did in last years E3?" That is- why not try to out-awesome price ranges? Wouldn't the promise of cheaper books guarantee sales? Thanks! Answer

And then they lose their shirts.

You would think that lower prices would increase sales, but that’s really not the case at all—not to the level where it offsets the lost revenue from the decreased cover price.

Individual readers love it because it means that they can pay less for the stuff that they were already going to buy. But it means that we bring in less money to keep our operation going, and it means that your local store brings in less money to keep their lights on and their doors open.

We do regularly offer discount deals on our digital books through the Marvel App and elsewhere.
